Wyler Art Studio News: August 2007Kris has completed two new paintings, A New Day and Far Away, this month. A New Day, a 20" x 16" oil painting, depicts the earliest hours of the dawn before one knows what the day will hold. The breathtaking view suggests new beginnings and new horizons. Kris has used old master techniques in this painting, bringing her oils to a new level of sophistication. She begins the painting with a complete, full-value graphite drawing and completes it with a high gloss finish which is extraordinary in an oil painting.
The latest addition to Kristine Wyler's Womanhood series is Far Away, an 11" x 15" watercolor which presents a woman lost in thought. The painting is a skillful contrast of fragile, delicate physical features with a determined, resolute spirit. Kristine Wyler's paintings continue to be on display in Kent State Stark Campus's Gallery 6000: Watercolor Wizards show through August 28, 2007. The gallery is located in the Professional Education & Conference Center, 6000 Frank Avenue NW, North Canton, Ohio.
