Wyler Art Studio News: December 2008

Paintings by Kristine Wyler will be on display in Art on the Edge through January 2009 at Cyrus Custom Framing and Art Gallery at 2645 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Canton, Ohio 44709. Kris and twenty-seven other artists and students of Wanda Montgomery will be displaying their work. A reception and open house was held on Friday, December 12, 2008 from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Kris Wyler's watercolor, Far Away, has been selected for inclusion in the 31st Annual Exhibition of the Ohio Watercolor Society.  The exhibition will be held November 6th, 2008 through January 11th, 2009, at the Ohio Arts Council’s Riffe Gallery in Columbus, Ohio. Works for this juried show were selected by Alvara Castaget, a native of Uruguay, who has achieved international recognition for his painting, teaching, and judging of watercolor exhibitions. The 67 works in the exhibit were selected for the instant reaction they inspire. The Ohio Arts Council’s Riffe Gallery is located in the Vern Riffe Center for Government and the Arts, 77 S. High St., Columbus, OH. Admission is free. Gallery fall and winter hours are Tue., 10 a.m.- 4 p.m., Wed. through Fri., 10 a.m.- 8 p.m., Sat. noon - 8 p.m. and Sun. noon-4 p.m. The Gallery is closed Monday and state holidays. Kristine Wyler has also been selected to show five paintings in the upcoming Watercolor Wizards show at Stark State College of Technology in North Canton, Ohio.  The show will run from Friday, November 14 to Friday, December 19, 2008.  On display will be three new abstract paintings by Kristine, Journey, Spin, and Tea House.  An opening reception will be held on Monday, November 17, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  The public will have a chance to meet and talk to Kristine and other local artists, and refreshments will be served.  Art work will be on display on the second floor of the Student Center,  Mondays through Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays 8 a.m. to noon.
