Kris devoted 2008 primarily to the medium of oil on clayboard, using her smooth finishing technique. Seascapes and native peoples continued to be a frequent subject. Her watercolors took a turn for the abstract this year. 2008 marked the year in which Kris's work was selected for inclusion in the Annual Exhibition of the Ohio Watercolor Society. Her painting Far Away was the recipient of this honor. In addition to showing her work at Stark State College, the Canton Cultural Center, the Massillon Museum, and various galleries and First Friday venues in Canton, she also conducted a graduate level workshop entitled Watercolor for Art Teachers at Malone College. Kris was also featured in a solo show at North Canton's Little Art Gallery, where she displayed her early china painting as well as more recent work.
